Qualifications:

Engineer I – Systems Test

What you'll do:

Provide test engineering support relating to spacecraft or instrument integration, testing and maintenance for the mechanical product area. Budget, schedule, plan and control spacecraft/instrument integration and test of mechanical components and systems, including performance and environmental testing. Examples of mechanical products include simple and complex mechanisms, and simple and complex structures.

Write, review, update, and implement procedures as required. Maintain required test engineering logs, records and reports. Interpret and monitor test results from system testing.

What you need:

Experience in the testing of instrument/spacecraft or related mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems. Experience in procedure development and is required. Good presentation skills and communication skills a must, as well as demonstrated leadership and team building skills. Applicants selected may be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

BS in Engineering or a related technical field plus 2 or more years experience.

Security Clearance:

Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance. A current DoD clearance is not required to be eligible for this position, however the successful applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance within a reasonable time after the offer is extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance.

Education:

In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level should be considered. Each higher level degree may substitute for two years of related experience. Related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
