Engineer II/III , Electrical System Protection & Automation (R13-024)

Design and set protective relays and their logic schemes for transmission, distribution, and generation systems. Provide protection engineering support services to field personnel, substation and generation design personnel and distribution regions. Perform fault studies and operational analysis of system events.

This position will be filled at the Engineer I or II level commensurate with the applicant’s experience. The primary focus of this position will be distribution protection including support of Distribution Automation initiatives.

Engineer II level typically requires the candidate to have:
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
  • Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in engineering and design for utility systems
  • Proficiency in problem solving and analysis
  • Skill and knowledge in specialized protection software and data base management
  • Valid driver's license with evidence of a safe driving record
Engineer III level typically requires the candidate to have:
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Typically requires 8 years’ experience in engineering and design for utility systems and/or generation
  • Skill and knowledge in specialized protection software and data base management
  • Effective at building professional interdepartmental relationships
  • Valid driver's license with evidence of a safe driving record
