Parsons Brinckerhoff is looking for exceptional candidates for the position of Traffic Engineer for our Indianapolis, Indiana office. This individual will be expected to complete tasks to support traffic engineering, multimodal transportation planning and transit planning projects, as well as to further develop and expand our practice in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have broad-based, hands-on experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, including the ability to execute projects and tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Work tasks may include traffic operations analyses to support planning studies and highway design projects, roadway and intersection safety analyses, analysis of traffic crash data, technical writing, and other tasks to support a variety of projects. Some field work, including traffic counting, infrastructure condition assessments, and road safety audits will be required of this position.

Job Requirements

Experience and Education Required
The successful candidate should possess a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in traffic engineering, and the ability/desire to pursue a Professional Engineer license in the state of Indiana. Hands-on experience with traffic engineering and planning software such as HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, ArcGIS, VISSIM and Microstation or AutoCAD is desired. Strong technical writing and communications skills are required. In addition, past experience with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Indianapolis Department of Public Works, and/or central Indiana municipalities or agencies is highly desirable. The ability to work in the United States immediately is a requirement.
