Responsibilities:
Lead global RD&T project team(s) and participate as a team member in additional RD&T projects. Assist RD&T Management to plan and implement RD&T programs on a global basis. Recommend next steps in progressing a project. Ensures projects adhere to RD&T work processes and stage-gate processes and project and technical reports are issued on schedule and to a suitable standard. Support business teams/technology teams and manufacturing initiatives as agreed in a timely manner. When required, assist others with transition of projects from RD&T to Engineering groups. Conduct work in accordance with MIC values. Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to environmentally safe work practices. Plans and prioritizes independent work. Provide coaching and assist with the training and skills development of team members. Protect intellectual property associated with technical work. Maintain effective contacts with sites and external alliances as appropriate. Skills Required: Formal Education/Qualification:
MSc. or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering.

Function Specific:
Sound Chemical Engineering skills required.
Basic statistical analysis skills (DOE, comparison of means, and comparison of variance) required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to interact with other engineers/scientists/technicians within RD&T, as well as with personnel at the plant sites, required.
Ability to work in teams required.
Ability to work independently required.
Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, required.
Proficient in MS Office required.
Experience in working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Inorganic chemistry knowledge preferred.
Experience in project management preferred.
Proficient in Minitab preferred.
Capable of proposing process and/or product changes.
Amenable to work in a plant environment on temporary assignments.

Business/Industry Specific:
Knowledgeable in TiO2 production processes.
Experience with coatings and ultrafine TiO2 applications.
Experience with chemical plant operations.
