This role is responsible for creating MSTP, (Multi-Stage Turbine Programming) language; Create, maintain, test, and/or document computer operation programs relative to input and outputs of complex turbomachinery.
Perform Dynamic Simulations of simple and complex turbomachinery systems to assist in their overall design and validation, which includes proper valve selection and controll system design.
Preserve the integrity and accuracy of engineering programs while updating data and design methodology.
Implement latest Elliott turbomachinery design technologies.
Plan schedule conduct or coordinate detailed phases of assigned projects.
Improve software speed and functionality using improved systems software or programming methods.
Provide technical expertise in interconnecting of the various computer hardware and software devices.
Consult/recommed in-house programming versus outsourcing versus commercial programs when appropriate.
Perform Dynamic Simulations in accordance with project requirements.
Interpret results and make recommendations if appropriate.
Support marketing sales application and engineering in the use of Dynamic Simulation Programs or use of other Elliott Group Programs.
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Alternatively a degree in:
BS degree in Computer Science with relevant engineering experience is acceptable.
Demonstated experience performing engineering programming and program maintenance (job experience or advanced degree project). Analytical programming skills including FORTRAN OR C programming on Unix platform. Additionally a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or past experience as a Controls Engineer or Process Engineer would be considered a plus. Past experience performing chemical plant or machinery simulations would be considered a plus.
An aerodynamic / thermodynamic and mechanical backgrounds along with MATLAB experience, PERL or other scripting experience. Visual BASIC experience VB6 and VB.net, VB-applicaitons for excel. Database management in Oracle or SQL setups.
