Interact with Customer and internal cross-functional teams to create products to meet Customer functionality, timing, and cost needs while maintaining Company plant feasibility requirements and profit margins.

Responsibilities
·
Leads development of DFMEA or secures from customer on programs where Cooper Standard Automotive is not design responsible.
·
Leads development of list of significant and/or critical characteristics and communicates to cross-functional program team.
·
Develops initial Bill of Material and works with Purchasing to obtain approved suppliers for component parts.
·
Supervises the generation of all internal and external CAD drawings. Reviews and approves all prints. Assists in the finalization of all drawings for production release.
·
Assists in development of ATP package.
·
Coordinates design and manufacturing feasibility reviews and provides regular status updates.
·
Schedules and follow ups on required testing with lab services.
·
Initiates, tracks, and documents the results of the design validation plan report.
·
Plans, submits, supports, and tracks prototype orders/builds. Utilizes SPC & DOE techniques during prototype builds.
·
Assists in evaluation of product warranty returns and incorporates warranty corrective actions into new designs
·
Assists in all product Value Analysis/Value Engineering projects.
      Qualifications
      Education & Experience
      ·
      Bachelors Degree in Engineering
      ·
      5 plus years relevant job experience.
      ·
      5 plus years of experience working with OEM customers.
      ·
      Competency in multiple traditional fluid carrying products (i.e., brake, fuel, TOC/EOC, quick connects, HVAC).
      ·
      Competency in joint/mating interfaces, with respect to fluid routing products.
      ·
      Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
      ·
      Working knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, DOE, DFSS, and GD&T
      ·
      Working knowledge of materials and processes required to manufacture metals, rubber, and composites.
      ·
      Working knowledge of Customer development process and engineering change process.
      ·
      Experience with CAD packages is a plus.
      ·
      Proficient in MS Project.

      ·
      Must be able to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
      ·
      Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
      ·
      Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain good documentation of development process.
      ·
      Program management experience.
      ·
      Systems’ competency, as determined (i.e. Windchill, Autoquote)
