About the Job
Orica’s Global Procurement Team is seeking an Engineering Procurement Specialist to oversee the development and implementation of the Global Procurement Strategy across North America. As a specialist in the Engineering discipline, the Procurement Specialist will work closely with our two large manufacturing facilities – Brownsburg (Electronic Blasting Systems) and Carseland (Ammonium Nitrate), in addition to collaborating with our smaller facilities for their procurement needs.
Driving value initiatives, standardizing processes, consolidating suppliers, negotiating national contracts, reporting spending, reducing cost and providing support/input on CAPEX and OPEX projects will be key objectives of this role. Overseeing $50M Engineering expenditure per year, the Procurement Specialist will liaise with the Global Engineering Category Manager to ensure the total needs of Orica are met; balancing the Global Strategy with the National Engineering Procurement requirements.
This role requires analytical thinking, an innovative approach and attention to detail. This position is based at Orica’s Head Office in Watkins, CO; therefore the successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate to the Denver region. Travel will be required from time to time between sites to ensure effective engagement with key stakeholders and suppliers across all North American Orica sites.

Required Skills:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or Business related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering procurement within Mining, Oil & Gas or related service industries
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to engage with Manufacturing Managers, Maintenance Managers and Global Engineering Procurement team.
  • Expertise in Contract Management, Procurement Strategy , Processes and Systems
  • Exposure to CAPEX/OPEX procurement
  • Exposure to SAP will be highly regardedWhat We Offer
