Aerojet, a premier aerospace and defense company specializing in missile and space propulsion, is seeking an engineer in our Ramjet engineering group to work on the latest technology programs in air breathing systems and components. This position is for an emerging authority in air breathing propulsion to support the Ramjet Engineering manager in the conduct of engine performance analysis, functional evaluation of fuels and flow paths, planning for tests and analyzing results, and the development of analytical tools & techniques.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):

40% Without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approach, perform ramjet performance analysis or fluid dynamic analysis for ramjet engines. Types of analyses include, engine cycle performance, and engine performance test data reduction and correlation and operability analyses.
40% Design and support verification tests of propulsion systems and components. Develop test systems and strategies, specify instrumentation and analyze test results. Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and problem solving meetings.
20% Prepare analysis reports and test reports; and present analysis results.


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline with course work in propulsion and fluid dynamics and at least nine(9) years directly applicable engineering experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience); an advanced degree and directly related research work in high speed air breathing propulsion and working experience in ground testing is preferred.

This position may involve future relocation.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship is required).
