Working with general supervision, the Engineering CAD Operator creates 3D modeling and prototypes primarily using the AutoCAD suite of products including: Inventor, Mechanical, Alias and Solid Works. This position ensures that products are being manufactured efficiently by using their knowledge of surface modeling, metal die castings, machined parts and PCB packaging. The candidate must be able to present previous examples of work to demonstrate proficiency levels using 3D Modeling tools. An associate in this position may interact with his or her supervisor weekly to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advanced approval.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Use CAD CAM tools (AutoCAD Alias, Inventor, Mechanical and Solid works) working in collaboration with internal and external designers and engineers to create design solutions for products.
Ensure products are created according to specifications by communicating effectively with internal and external resources during the prototype and production phases.
Create and review prototypes in collaboration with internal teams using best practices.
Develop and maintain departmental CAD standards.
Work within project deadlines and communicate potential roadblocks that limit successful outcomes.
Collaborate in the construction of product prototypes that involve both electrical and mechanical elements.
Present to management team project progress; share project data using tools such as PowerPoint.
Communicate all issues to management that could result in process delays, safety issues, or otherwise cause a loss to the company or its associates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Education and/or Experience)
Accredited Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Computer Science or related discipline required; accredited Bachelor of Science or comparable certificate in engineering, engineering technology, mechanical engineering, or comparable academic experience preferred.
At least 2 years’ experience in the design, development and production of prototypes using 3D CAD models; at least one year of experience with plastics and metals machining and general assembly preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age and present any state required proof of age documents
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
Working knowledge of plastics and metals machining
Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English (bilingual in Spanish preferred)
Proficient knowledge of business computer systems and applications — specifically CAD CAM, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft project; expert knowledge preferred
Proficient ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization
Possess the learning capacity to receive and apply cross-functional training; willingness to assist other functions and work groups as needed so the department achieves or exceeds its overall business objectives
Expert ability to comprehend and adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures including, but not limited to, those related to attendance and scheduling requirements, honesty and integrity, confidentiality, safety, and conflict of interest
Proficient ability to create 3D modeling and prototypes using AutoCAD suite of products
Proficient knowledge in surface modeling, metal die castings, machined parts, and PCB packaging
Proficient knowledge of plastics and plastic mold interaction preferred
Demonstrate proven capability in developing products in 3D using Autodesk inventor, Mechanical or Solidworks preferred
Previous experience or background in electro-mechanical product development preferred
