This position coordinates the day to day operations of the Communications Center and supports Admissions recruitment activities. Primary responsibility is to ensure recruitment strategies involving communication to prospective students are implemented with timeliness and accuracy. This position has a role in assisting in the development and coordination of marketing strategies and materials, providing information and advisement to prospective students concerning UMKC programs offered, and serving as a liaison to personnel in various academic units on campus. This position also coordinates technical processes in the UMKC student information system, PeopleSoft, such as organizing mass quantities of data, properly loading data, running queries and extracting data, submitting modifications and testing the system to ensure efficiency. This position will supervise and delegate tasks to 10-15 student staff that assist in sending outbound communication to prospective students via mail, telecounseling, and maintaining student records. This position is also responsible for generating reports to support enrollment management efforts. Technical knowledge and comfort in similar student information systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, is preferred. Prior work in admissions and the understanding of an admissions funnel is helpful.
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Two years of experience in admissions, recruitment or student programming in a higher education setting is required. Excellent communication skills are necessary.
Comfort and ability to work with advanced data base systems, two years of Admissions experience, supervisory experience, Microsoft Excel.
