Responsibilities:
Review existing and new product architectures and help architect/engineer for operability, general engineering robustness and performance

Audit and measure Mandatory Operating Standards (MOS) to maintain stability and maturity of failover and business continuity mechanisms for applications/systems.

Consult with application teams and other constituents on HA design approaches at appropriate code reviews and milestones.

Establish collaborative working relationships with development and operational groups where you assist teams with decisions that impact Enterprise system delivery, stability and performance

Designs highly complex solutions.

Acts as a consultant and/or technical architect to perform analysis, provide guidance and infrastructure system solutions to meet customer business requirements.

Oversees the development and implementation of program/customer level technical solution architecture,both hardware and software and approves architecture designs.

Prepares and presents customer proposals and/or status presentations.

Provides expertise in third party products and technology trends.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Works with multiple products to assess engineering risks in the end-to-end system

Understand and work through the three phases of ITIL; change management, incident management and problem management (root cause analysis)

Identifies critical use cases; selects key performance scenarios; establishes performance objectives for performance testing and engineering.

Asks probing questions to obtain critical information for decision-making. Identifies problems and associated system and performance risks.

Reviews applications and their implementation architectures to identify operational pressure-points that potentially impact stability. Advises developers on how to best manage identified pressure points to sustain high-availability

Uses tools to measure, quantify and perform analysis of the performance benchmark.

Utilizes statistical performance analysis and modeling techniques to validate transaction forecasts; works closely with end-to-end capacity planner to integrate performance measurement data into capacity plans.

Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems and where necessary drives Root Cause Analysis to resolution of complex errors.

Able to engage in performance optimization and tuning of production and proof-of-concept applications.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 8 years related experience.

Application Architecture

: Identifies common business components and services that can be leveraged by multiple applications.

Product Life Cycle

: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration implementation/delivery and maintenance.

Sabre Strategic Architecture

: General knowledge of the company’s architectural practices and guidelines, Strategic Architectural Tenants, roadmap and security policies.

Systems Analysis

: Determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes, knowledge of products and system architecture .

Systems Design

: Generates or adapts equipment and technology to serve user needs; contributes to the development of business architectures and solution architectures.

Systems Integration

: Knowledge of how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur. Technology Architecture: Defines architecture requirements and deliverables; ensures procedures for on-going operational support.

Technology

: Linux, Java, Apache/Tomcat, WebSphere MQ, F5 Load Balancing, Oracle RAC, Storage, and other Clustering Technologies. SOA experience and familiarity with XML desired.

Strategy

: Understands the company’s technology direction; ensures product development links to strategic business
