This position may be located in our Federal Way WA, Seattle WA, Whitefish MT, or Helena, MT office.

What you’ll be doing: Working with a large environmental team consisting of scientists and engineers solving complex environmental problems. Working with a team, you will be developing work plans for site investigations and remediation activities, preparing investigation reports, evaluating remedial technologies/alternatives, conducting feasibility studies, preparing remedial action plans, assisting with the development of design of remediation systems, preparing bid specifications and evaluating contractor bids, following through during construction and operations of the designed treatment technology, monitoring and evaluation of treatment effectiveness, regulatory reporting and negotiations for closure. Travel is required on a limited basis to support ongoing environmental projects.

What you’ll need: The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience with closure of environmental cleanup sites under Washington State or Federal regulations, a background in performing site investigations, evaluating remedial technologies and experience in negotiation of cleanup activities with state and federal regulatory agencies. A BS/MS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Geology/Hydrogeology and professional registration (PE or RG) is required. The successful candidate will bring professional familiarity with the railroad industry, prior project management experience, and a keen ability to develop and motivate teams and move projects forward to completion. Strong business development skills (both with the railroad and other industry) are necessary to help expand the group.
