Atkins Environmental Group is seeking an Environmental Sciences Project Manager with Oil and Gas experience to join a successful and expanding team of environmental professionals in the Houston, Texas office. The role of the Project Manager will be to supervise project permitting/documentation, field surveys and client interaction in the general field of natural resources and environmental sciences for the north Texas region and to assist in managing project teams on associated projects. You will assist project managers in production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management and marketing.

Job duties will typically include:
  • Field Survey Participant and Supervision
  • Waters of the U.S. Evaluation
  • Threatened and Endangered Species Review
  • Project Documentation/ Regulatory Permitting Support
  • NEPA Development Support
  • Environmental Site Assessment Support
  • Client exposure
  • Submitting wetland delineation reports.

Job Details

We require a B.S./B.A. or M.S. in a field of Science including Ecology, Biology, Range Land Management, Anthropology, or related field, commensurate with hiring discipline.

Experience managing projects for oil and gas clients with specific emphasis on upstream and midstream development projects is required. The successful applicant must have broad understanding of this industry and the environmental requirements/regulations applicable to these clients.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, technical writing, computer and communication skills required. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in providing environmental services to municipalities and/or the oil/gas industry (E/P sites, pipelines, etc.).

Technical report development, client interaction, regulatory agency coordination/permitting, and quality control management are preferred skills.

You should have a professional attitude and be able to deal directly and communicate effectively with clients and other staff both verbally and in writing. We look for excellent project and time management skills, negotiation skills, and an ability to deal successfully with various personalities and all levels of management.

You must have current US work authorization to work for any US employer without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
