Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist III / IV for our Houston, Texas location. The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for providing advanced technical environmental compliance to our Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) and Petchem facilities
Responsibilities:
Assists with facility environmental compliance, permitting, and liaison activities with internal and external customers
Work with management to assist in the development and implementation of strategies used to maintain compliance with the developing regulations and requirements
Maintain records and generate reports to demonstrate compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations that are applicable to the Geismar Olefins, and other NGL and Petchem facilities
Effectively interface with NGL and Petchem facility personnel and management to understand and lead environmental compliance activities
Access and process databases to retrieve information critical for compliance demonstration and permit application preparation
Lead negotiations with federal and state regulators for compliance and permitting projects
Interface with regulatory and association representatives to input facility needs for developing requirements
Monitor and participate as required in regulatory changes at the state and local level for all environmental disciplines
Review existing, evolving, and new regulatory requirements for facility applicability, and assist with requirement implementation
Interact with regulatory and external associations to provide education and feedback
Qualifications
A Successful Candidate Must
Possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science or related field
Have a broad understanding for the practical application of environmental regulations in an operations environment
Previously worked with computers and data systems
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have proficient Microsoft Applications and overall PC skills
Be willing and able to participate and contribute to the Williams’ team efforts and initiatives
