Under close supervision, performs repetitive housekeeping tasks in patient areas, offices, clinics and other assigned areas. Maintains area according to established level of order, cleaning, and disinfecting. Ability to communicate with Medical Center staff in a courteous and professional manner.
Required: High school education or GED
(not applicable to employees hired before 5/1/07)
Preferred: Housekeeping experience.

Department Position Summary:
Prepares cleaning solutions appropriate to task. Cleans public and patient areas as assigned. Cleans specialty areas as assigned. Cleans spills of hazardous materials.
Removes trash from accumulation points. Removes soiled linen from accumulation points. Disposes of hazardous waste in appropriate containers. Delivers clean linen from dock to Central Sterile Supply. Restock cleaning supplies. Moves or rearranges furniture, boxes and equipment. Meeting setups as requested. Operates departmental equipment.
