The Manager of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), is responsible for working with NBC Sports Group teams, as assigned, to help ensure employee safety as well as compliance with all NBCUniversal, federal, state, local and/or international environmental, occupational safety and health policies, rules and regulations as applicable.
Implement and maintain appropriate safety programs e.g., Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, policies and procedures as necessary to ensure a safe & healthful work environment for all personnel.
Act as a partner to Operations and Production teams to conduct reviews of plans to identify potential EHS issues, e.g. hazardous conditions or locations, unusual activities, etc.
Participate in production meetings to understand scheduled production activities and provide guidance for any unresolved EHS issues.
Conduct investigations of all accidents, incidents, significant events and emergencies promptly in accordance with company policies and/or applicable laws and regulations.
Track, review and analyze all injuries/illnesses and accident investigations for each production to determine trends, root cause, regulatory compliance & follow-up actions.
Partner with Production and Operations personnel to provide expert guidance, education & safety training to crew members, supervisors and management in safe work practices, documentation requirements and general regulatory compliance, as necessary.
Attend remote productions / events to provide input from the EHS perspective and be on site when higher-risk activities may take place, as necessary.
Work with EHS Director to realize established short and long-term departmental EHS goals.
Work with the EHS Director and other Managers to ensure consistent application of NBCUniversal policies across all facilities and productions and evaluate whether these policies are effective.
Actively participate in the meetings and be prepared to discuss issues related to productions as well as facilities.
Interface with outside regulatory agencies as required, e.g., Fire Department, Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA) representatives.
Participate in the ongoing review of existing EHS programs and creation of new programs.
Represent NBCUniversal to external professional organizations, peers and employees in a professional manner.
Minimum five (5) years experience in the EHS field OR 5 years experience in the television and/or film production industry
Bachelor’s degree in a safety, occupational health or industrial hygiene field or equivalent and proven work experience.
Based in Stamford, CT
Willingness to work overtime, and/or on weekends
Must be willing and able to travel (domestic and occasional international)
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
Must be 18 years or older
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Must be covered by Solutions, NBC Universal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (Internal Only)
