Major Duties and Responsibilities:|
Drives specialized mini-buses in transporting disabled/mobility impaired persons; maintains accurate log reports on daily assignments and inspects assigned equipment for mechanical readiness.
Requires high school graduation/GED and three years of driving experience or less than high school and five years driving experience and the ability to obtain a CDL; ability to operate two-way radio, Mobile Data Terminal computer and hydraulic wheelchair lift system; experience in driving vans/mini-buses and working with disabled persons preferred; have safe driving record (no more than 4 points); good communication skills; good geographic knowledge of Mecklenburg County; ability to read/write/communicate effectively; ability to push/pull person in wheelchair up to 600 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs; at least 21 years old; ability to work night and weekend including holiday schedules (positions are minimum of 30 hours per week with final candidates agreement to work additional hours as required).
$14.40 per hour
