Cook Pharmica is a biopharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with process development, clinical and commercial bulk drug substance manufacturing, formulation development, clinical and commercial parenteral drug product manufacturing, including liquid and lyophilized vials, prefilled syringes and secondary packaging, and an array of support services all at a single facility in Bloomington, IN. Primary Function
The Equipment Specialist will provide direct technical support to process equipment procurement, testing, operational excellence, and training in our parenteral contract manufacturing facility. Will work collaboratively with multiple company functions to ensure equipment and associated production systems operate in a safe, efficient, and quality-oriented manner.

Essential Job Function/Duties
• Provides training and assessment support for equipment operation, set-up, changeover, and troubleshooting
• Provides recommendations and implements solutions to resolve equipment and or process problems in a timely manner
• Collaborates with appropriate expertise and assume ownership of the work order life cycle completion for applicable production equipment
• Ensures documentation of deviations that occur with equipment in the production process
• Collects and analyze applicable information to identify and respond to improvement opportunities
• Identifies, participates, and leads process development/improvement initiatives

Minimum Work Experience/Education Requirements
• Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical equipment experience (Operations, Maintenance, or Engineering) - preferred
• Previous leadership experience - preferred
• Very strong mechanical skills with solid information technology background
• Excellent communication, teamwork and technical writing skills
• Proficient with various/common computer software platforms
• 4-year degree in related life-science, or equivalent work experience
• 5 or more years of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical equipment experience; operations, maintenance, or engineering based
• Very strong mechanical skills with solid information technology background
• Excellent communication, teamwork and technical writing skills
• Proficient with various/common computer software platforms

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
• Must be able to lift/push/pull 30 pounds on a consistent basis
• Capable of standing for a minimum of 6 hours, stooping, kneeling, climbing
• Potential limited exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Must be able to wear an air powered respirator
• Must be able to work in an environment that can affect an electronic implant device (i.e. pacemaker, auto injector, etc.)
• Personal protective equipment including safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, specialized clothing including laboratory scrubs (pants and shirt) and appropriate shoes may be required in areas associated with this position
