1.

Under the direct supervision of the Equipment Manager, sets up and maintains equipment on a continuous basis to ensure ready availability.

2.

Applies comprehensive knowledge of specialized equipment and supplies utilized in the provision of the hospital.

3.

Organizes equipment and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.

4.

Organizes time efficiently to meet position responsibilities in collaboration with the Equipment Management Supervisor.

5.

Responsible for daily inspections of outdated items in all areas of the hospital for equipment with consumable supplies.

6.

Tracks down missing items and equipment on a daily basis.

7.

Applies basic knowledge of infection control principles in the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of all equipment and supplies.

8.

Cleans all shelves, work counters, decontamination areas daily.

9.

Consistently responds to nursing units in a courteous and timely manner.

10.

Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one.

11.

Maintains competency and to continue personal and professional growth.

12.

Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and with other service areas.

13.

Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.

14.

Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and privacy of the patient.

15.

Interactions with patients and colleagues demonstrate compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status or cultural beliefs.

16.

Communicates effectively with other care providers (physicians, nurses, and satellite staff) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the customers we serve.
