Prepares, develops, maintains, updates, and analyzes project capital cost estimates, forecasts, and cash flows
• Works with internal project stakeholders as assigned to gather all relevant information in order to prepare accurate project estimates, including Engineering, Project Management, Development, Procurement, Origination, and Capex Control
• Reviews and analyzes existing work breakdown structures utilized in estimates and budgets for optimization and improvements
• Utilizes existing unit-cost database and published cost indices to prepare estimates
• Prepares and prices value-analysis options and suggestions
• Prepares comparisons of current and previous estimates and actualized project costs
• Develops, builds, and maintains the appropriate estimating tools to enhance existing processes and procedures
• Assists the Estimation Manager with developing and maintaining intelligence regarding trends in cost of services, materials, and commodities in the various regions in which the company operates
• Reviews and evaluates contractor change notices
• Additional duties as required
Position Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 0 – 3 years of experience in the energy business in an analytical, quantitative, or modeling function
REQUIRED LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Proficient knowledge of currently available estimating software and tools and of Microsoft Office software
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to be self-motivated
Organizational skills
Ability to prepare estimates and budgets with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to work well both independently and as part of an interdependent team
Ability to quickly learn the company’s existing estimating/budgeting system, and to provide recommendations to enhance the current process
Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Proficiency with Microsoft Project software preferred
