Job Description:
The Applications Engineer/Estimator will perform data
analysis; conduct profitability studies; work with
engineering and manufacturing on cost improvement
efforts "Cost-Out initiatives"; manages specific
products associated proprietary pricing tools; prepares
estimates for projects by performing the following
duties personally.
Reviews cost-related data for the specific product and
conducts appropriate data analysis using statistical
tools and performance measurements; works with the
production engineering staff; manufacturing engineering,
and operations in order to institute cost reduction and
project simplification and standardization.
The Estimator III / Product Line Specialist will be
responsible for
  • developing and maintaining detailed and auditable
material cost database for their products core
requirements as well as specific component level
  • utilizing statistical evaluation of vendor and
operations proposals with regard to products and
component cost feasibility; with direct assistance
of the VBA Programming administration of pricing
SOFTWARE specific to the product.
  • develop written formal proposals including technical
budget estimates and cost justification models
required for product line enhancement and, or cost
out development work.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in an Electrical Engineering
Discipline from an accredited college or University, or
a minimum ten years' experience in project cost
estimating; or an equivalent combination of education
and work experience
Minimum 0-3 years of experience in related
Computer Skills: AutoCAD; ERP system Oracle; MicroSoft
Office Suite; previous experience utilizing Projects
related software (ie. Microsoft Projects, Excel and
Oracle) with the ability to learn new software programs
Design: Generate creative cost-related solutions to
products or product lines from the early advanced stages
to final release based on proven engineering techniques.

inquisitive mind, using strong logical, methodical and
systematic skills;
Oral Communication: Must speak clearly and persuasively
in positive or negative situations; listen and get
clarification; demonstrate group presentation skills;

efficiency, cost reduction and process improvement.
Ability to conduct advanced data correlation,
auto-correlation and regression analysis. Ability to
draw and interpret the data through visible graphics or
simulation modeling for both systems analysis and design
Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal
with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
