Develop and manage events such as product launches, author tours, store visits and signings, trade shows, and other event-related activities.
Work with Creative Services for event promotion and advertising.
Communicate promotional plans and event schedules to authors and retail stores.
Work closely with the Marketing Team and other internal departments for event coordination; manage vendor relationships for event production.
Maintain events calendar and manage each event to ensure that marketing goals are achieved and budgets are met.
Evaluate each completed event and make recommendations for future events.
Establish and nurture relationships via phone and email with internal and external contacts at schools, libraries, and bookstores, as well as with authors and artists.
BA degree in Communications (preferably PR or Event Planning), Marketing, related field, or equivalent experience
Three-plus years public relations and/or event work experience preferred
Excellent written and oral communications skills, and ability to communicate using phone, email, etc.
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with authors, artists, management, and internal staff
Ability to work well under regular pressure of multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Ability to work independently, and in a team
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Proficient design skills (Adobe suite) preferred
