This an UNPAID internship opportunity.
Internship position has flexible hours and is unpaid. Interns must be seeking college credit.
Event, Marketing, Sales and PR Interns will assist with the coordination, marketing, executing and evaluation of multiple public and private events and activities within a budget for the Kansas City Zoo. He/She will facilitate special partnerships and contribute to collateral, advertising and promotional materials, PowerPoint presentations, visitor surveys and other departmental responsibilities as assigned. Evening and weekend hour may be necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Emphasis on organization, relationship building, as well as creative and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced growing organization.
Creating and initiating new attendance and revenue generating events
Planning, organizing and executing events within a budget
Ensuring completion of self-assigned and delegated assignments
Coordinating events with staff, volunteers and volunteer coordinator
Evaluating and recommending changes and upgrades to events
Marketing events and the Kansas City Zoo with the goal of selling repeat visits
Fulfillment of sponsorship details
Contributing, writing, proofing and distribution of collateral materials: FOTZ newsletter, coupons, promotional fliers, signs,
Other duties, as assigned
