SUMMARY

The summer 2013 internship will consist of activities that support the Events and High Performance departments of USA Boxing. The intern will have the opportunity to work with athletes in different age groups from various regions of the country. During the course of the internship, the candidate will acquire experience related to sports administration and event management through various assigned tasks and projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Support the operational aspects of large-scale events, including the Junior National Championships.

2. Support the operational aspects of National team events and programs, such as training camps and competitions.

3. Assist with the operational aspects of coaching and officials’ clinics.

4. Edit and organize video footage captured at various levels of competitions.

5. Organize and track results from National team competitions.

6. Collect and organize post event information, including After Action Reports, to assist in the improvement of future events and programming.

QUALILFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sport experience preferred (i.e. active in competitive/intramural sports)
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA
  • Must be willing to periodically work non-traditional hours (i.e. work on weekends)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced multidisciplinary team environment
  • The intern should be enrolled in a Bachelor degree program at the Junior or Senior level status or enrolled in a Masters degree program.
  • Spanish speaking a plus
Required Skills TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
  • Standard Office Equipment
  • Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook
  • Proficiency with internet search capabilities and usage telecommunications equipment, fax machine, copier
  • Dartfish , video editing technologies

CONDITIONS:

Office environment in multi-story building on multi-building site
