The Materials Leader for the Aero Global Supply Chain plays a critical strategic role in the operations and fulfillment of the Aero business plan. Aligned with customer expectations and internal operating rhythms, this role works closely with the Global Projects team, Engineering, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Operations leader to execute on build plans and orders.
In addition, you will:
Be responsible for all input and output from the Aero business as it relates to inventory and customer contractual commitments (the Aero business is comprised of Packaging, Turbine Only, Fast Power and Services. Sales in 2012 are approx. $3.8 Billion, with an estimated 6.4 Inventory Turns)
Set Aero material strategy for cycle reduction, flexibility and growth
Be responsible for the coordination of Commercial, Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Projects functions for manufacturing slot / forecast planning, project planning, Sourcing material input, factory production support and Project / Contractual delivery
Direct supervision of the Packaging & HSR Planning Team, Warehouse and Receiving
Have dotted ownership of Turbine Only and Services planning teams
Be responsible for Functional & Base cost budget, Quality and EHS within team
Coordinate with Sourcing tactical execution of deliverables ($1.9B and 325,000 lines in 2012)
Lead and manage inventory reduction projects for Aero to include reapplication, cycle reduction, risk mitigation, On time delivery ($25M+ reapplied in 2012)
Participate in Aero Deal reviews
Develop and run Aero packaging Production meetings (Integrate Hungary and HangZhou factory deliverables)
Interface directly with customers where required in support of Contractual requirements
Utilize best practices and share across P&W / O&G factories to include Hungary, Rheden, HangZhou, Florence, and Cincinnati
Have Financial and Controllership responsibility as it relates to factory deliverables and contract language (Weekly Finance interface at Aero QMI reviews)
Have Engineering partnership in the improvement of BOM structure, part definition, and configuration management
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8 additional years of experience in Materials, Manufacturing / Operations, Sourcing leadership roles

Master’s Degree in applicable field
Prior experience working with a manufacturing environment
Six Sigma training is preferred (GE Employees Only)

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
