Our recruitment efforts are underway for this remarkable opportunity to be a senior member of UCLA Development’s leadership team.

The Executive Director will provide leadership to significant functional areas of our Development organization including high-priority, interdisciplinary campus-wide fundraising programs and initiatives. He/She will supervise professional development staff assigned to various campus-wide initiative including, but not limited to, The International Institute, UCLA Library, Broad Stem Cell Research Center, California NanoSystems Institutes, Alumni Association Development, and University Extension. In addition, the Executive Director serves as a member of the Associate Vice Chancellor’s Executive Management Team, advising the Associate Vice Chancellor on issues that enhance and ensure the continuance of UCLA’s national and international ranking as a leader in development for higher education.

Job Requirements Among other qualifications, successful candidates will have expert knowledge of the principles and practices of development in a major research university and a minimum of fifteen years of progressive responsibility and experience in the profession; demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement development programs, including the ability to envision and articulate future direction; appropriate management and administrative skills needed to organize, direct, motivate and evaluate other professionals and volunteers; proven experience with budget preparation, especially multiple budgets, planning and resource management; solid experience in soliciting high-level major gifts as well as knowledge of the issues facing higher education and of the basic tenents upon which a public university is established.
