PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Under the direction of the vice president of BH Clinical Services, the Executive Director of Surgical Services develops and implements a strategic plan for the surgical services; manages all functions within the division; plans, organizes, and directs all related functions and activities (internal and external); establishes goals, objectives, and standards of performance; develops operating policies and procedures; interprets hospital policies, standards, and regulations to the appropriate staff, patients, medical staff, and public. He/She is responsible for profitable growth within the Surgical Services Division.
The Executive Director assumes administrative responsibility for the management of all Surgical Services including Operating Room, GE Lab, Anesthesia, Ambulatory, Perioperative, Post Acute Care Unit, Ormis Support and Surgical Admin services. This positions functions in a collaborative BHC Surgical services systems role.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Required, Masters Degree preferred
- Ten (10) years in an administrative management role required
- Current RN license in the State of Florida
- Knowledge of human resource management; program development; fiscal management skills; and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards preferred.
