Vetstreet , a division of VCA-Antech, has an outstanding opportunity available for an Executive Web Editor to join our team in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
The Executive Web Editor is responsible for scheduling, overseeing the posting and day-to-day management of Vetstreet, Inc.’s professional medical content on Vetlearn.com, including Compendium, Compendium Equine and Veterinary Technician . This position is also responsible for overseeing or creating all ancillary information centers and modules, including Reference Desk, Home Page, Practice Management, Pet Health information for owners, news, etc. within our site in order to create the best user interface possible. He/she will direct the creation of templated newsletters based on journal content, schedule and work with vendor(s) to deliver each month.
Within the framework of Vetlearn.com, the Executive Web Editor is tasked with increasing traffic to Vetlearn.com via Web Trends information, social media engagement and comments on the site. He/she is expected to take an active role in creating and planning new ways to deliver the site’s content to users based on user feedback, market trends and site analytics. Finally, insuring compliance with Medline for Compendium’s continued indexing and working with libraries and other academic research institutions to maximize Vetlearn membership and usage as well as development and updating of online editorial rules pertaining to outsourced links, secondary rights and other content sharing is included.
The Executive Web Editor works closely with:
Chief Medical Officer
All editors including sister Pet Owner site, Vetstreet.com
Day-to-day site management of Vetlearn.com.
Create and execute web features including modules, promos, DLs.
Create and grow online editorial mix and calendar for entire Vetlearn.com site including Compendium , Compendium Equine and Veterinary Technician to ensure greatest growth in user engagement.
Help develop and execute Vetlearn.com publishing schedules.
Monitor/troubleshoot site for esthetics and functionality.
Work with development team to execute site changes and enhancements.
Further develop newsletters, email promotions and other touch points for veterinarians and veterinary staff.
Work closely with the editors and supply feedback on popular topic areas and formats.
Drive online growth of key publications and develop, along with the CMO and MD, strategic and tactical plans for exploiting all media including interactive CE, video, discussions, etc. to create additional revenue streams for Vetlearn.com.
Work with Web Analyst to analyze, interpret and report on site traffic. Identify and report trends and make appropriate recommendations.
Site promotion through social media, partnerships, conferences or associations.
Work with CMO and MD to develop and maintain professional content exchange relationships with veterinary organizations, schools and industry partners.
To imagine and manage joint projects with Vetstreet.com, Vetstreet or corporate sponsors.
Develop and maintain editorial policies relevant to the Internet.
Quality control of email lists and web subscription management.
Strong team management skills.
Excellent organizational, planning and time management abilities.
Clear writing style, organizational and presentation skills.
Understanding of scientific publishing, publishing ethics, peer-review process.
Working in html.
Experience with content management systems.
Knowledge of Excel, Word , PowerPoint, Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign.
On-line marketing experience.
Web site development, design and management experience.
Ability to interpret Web trends results.
