JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing service to members of Phifer through Fitness floor and Front desk interaction. Performs exercise testing, exercise prescriptions, monitoring of exercise programs for members of the facility, completes daily pool checks, tours for potential members and front desk coverage. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of clients served and ability to provide care according to departmental policies/procedures. Performs other related duties as required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology or related health field preferred
Experience: Developing exercise prescriptions, consultations, customer service and facility operations preferred. Pool operator training
License/Registration: Personal Training certification required within 60 days of employment (ACSM-CPT; NASM-CPT; NSCA-CPT or CSCS)
Other: Must take pride in work be able to organize work and perform duties with minimum supervision; must possess ability to observe conditions and report or request repairs; maintain an attractive and functional facility, be self-motivated and able to make decisions independently; strives to work safely without causing damage to equipment and/or facility; able to handle problem situations effectively and discreetly. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motions, including bending, stooping, stretching, climbing, kneeling, and reaching for eight hours. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects up to 100 pounds. Extended periods of walking/standing. Requires manual/finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination; corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
