The Pinal County Cooperative Extension office has one half-time position available for an Extension Program Assistant. The incumbent will work under the direction of a Program Coordinator who will ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board (Firsts Things First), who will be working in coordination with the Arizona Board of Regents, and the University of Arizona on behalf of Pinal County Cooperative Extension. The successful candidate: *Will conduct outreach activities and events; *Will work as part of team to plan and implement developmental screening outreach events and coordinate with multiple community partners; *Will be required to attend trainings and be certified to use required screening tools; *Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends; *Must possess reliable transportation and a valid AZ driver's license at time of start date, as county-wide travel will be required. This position is based in Casa Grande, AZ, at our Satellite office and WILL BEGIN ON MARCH 4, 2013.
Duties and Responsibilities
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
- Assists in the screenings of children ages two months to five years. * Assists and/or organizes, promotes, coordinates and conducts developmental screenings across all of Pinal County. * Answers inquiries and provides information relating to completion of forms, meetings, materials, record-keeping and other related functions to conduct programs. * Keeps records of screenings up-to-date. * Assures that referrals are sent to Arizona Early Intervention Program. * Assists with scoring of questionnaires. * Keeps event calendar. * Other duties, as assigned.
One year of instructional leadership, volunteer development or community organization experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Possession of a current Arizona Type D driver's license upon employment.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license, provide own transportation, and be able to travel statewide using all modes of transportation. Must be able to attend trainings and be certified to use required screening tools. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Pre-employment Screening Requirements
The University of Arizona conducts pre-employment screening for all positions, which includes a criminal background check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certifications, and work history. In addition, a check of names and identification documents is conducted on all new employees to ensure they are legally authorized to work in the United States.
