To perform a variety of semi-skilled duties in park maintenance, repair and ball field prep. Receive on-going training from the Parks Maintenance staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a temporary position maintaining parks, restrooms, athletic facilities and open spaces. O perate a variety of park maintenance vehicles, equipment and tools. Inspect parks for damage, remove litter, repair vandalism, broken equipment or hazardous conditions on a daily basis. Become familiar with Department procedures, including vehicle/equipment upkeep, and the athletic field closure process due to inclement weather. Provide assistance to full-time staff. C lean and maintain designated tennis courts. Post picnic shelter reservations. Pick up trash and remove litter from all ball fields and park grounds. Understand and adhere to safe work practices and procedures. Serve as a Department representative to report park patron feedback on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven ability to make decisions and work well with staff and park patrons. · Strength and stamina needed for working outdoors during morning, afternoon & evening hours. · Possession of valid Washington State Driver's License with an insurable driving record. · Demonstrated ability to safely operate a variety of grounds equipment. · Neatness, punctuality and organizational skills. · Ability to work independently without on-site supervision. · Park maintenance training and background preferred. · Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
