Company Information: Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP) is one of the largest non-profit Youth and Family Support agencies working with high-risk youth and their families in the United States. Currently, YAP employs more than 2,000 dedicated workers and serves approximately 10,000 families per year. Our mission is to engage human service systems so that they rely less on institutional care and invest more in supporting families and neighborhoods. We currently work with child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, disability and education systems to develop and offer community-based alternatives for the highest risk children, young people, young adults and families.
Summary of the Position: The Assistant Director will be responsible for completing family assessments and creating individualized service plans. The Assistant Director will be responsible for providing primarily parent advocacy derived from a caretaker assessment in order to make changes in the home to prevent continued CPS involvement. The Assistant Director will report to the Director. Travel will be necessary as well as willingness to work some nights and weekends and provide 24/7 crisis support to the caseload. A travel stipend will be given.
Qualifications/Requirements: BA and or equivalent educational experience. Successful applicants will possess outstanding people skills, creativity and energy as well as expertise of St. Lawrence County and its resources. Applicants will be versed in teaching and implementing parenting skills and assessing family dynamics and issues. Position requires and valid driver's license and car insurance limits of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability. This position requires background checks to be completed.
Compensation: Starting salary will be determined based on experience.
