Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

This position is being recruited at the Journey Competency Level under this career banding program. The hiring range for the Journey Level is $ 37,025 - $46,007. The salary grade equivalent for this position is a 65. *********************************************************************************************************************************************** A valid N.C. driver's license is required. Will install or repair plumbing components as per customer requests. Employee will keep lead person and supervisor well informed of daily progress. Journey level knowledge, skills, and ability in the plumbing trade is required; ability to read and interpret building plans and blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position is in the Design and Construction Services Department, Plumbing Shop 505, which is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the University's buildings. The primary purpose of this position is to construct and maintain the plumbing and equipment of the building systems. A minimum of three years journey level experience in the plumbing trade and some experience in heating and air conditioning and steam preferred.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:

Position involves working on hands and knees for extended periods of time, moving heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, climbing and working from tall ladders, scaffolding, and lifts. Ability to wear safety shoes and safety glasses; ability to pass a respirator fit test.
