Responsibilities

The Fitness and Activity Coordinator plans and implements specialized fitness and activity groups and individualized instruction that are tailored to meet the needs of various patient populations according to age and functional capacity. The Coordinator also provides fitness support to employees through scheduled fitness center times.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in the field of occupational therapy, special education, physical education, or related field is required as well as fitness certification by a nationally recognized organization such as ACE, NSCA, ASCM and ATC. At least 2 years experience working with patients within a mental health treatment setting. CPR and First Aid certification are also required. Must possess exceptional communication and people skills.

Conditions of Employment

Employment at McLean Hospital is contingent upon a successful CORI (Criminal Background Check), National Background Check and clearance from the Occupational Health Department.
