Job Description:

Description "Description: • The Switch Technician II must possess sound technical knowledge and proficiency in Telecom and switching operations including a working knowledge of Digital Cross-Connect System (DCS) and SS7 basics. • Serves as a skilled liaison between the local market and multiple support groups. • Able to work with Telco providers to turn-up and test new and existing circuits and trunk work orders to include OC12, OC3, T3, T1. • Will perform on-call duties, night shift rotations, and support weekend work and special events when situations demand. • This position may require occasional travel between the different switch facilities as needed. • Critical Thinking: • Able to apply sound judgment in the resolution of network issues. • Able to provide hands-on support to remote troubleshooting teams while demonstrating sound decision making skills. • Able to understand common network reports and take appropriate action. • Understands, utilizes, and have the ability to locate information in various data bases. Decision Making: • Candidate must be able to analyze and resolve common network/equipment issues and respond with appropriate corrective actions. • Able to problem-solve through day-to-day network issues with minimal supervision."

Responsibilities "Job Requirements: • Specialized advanced vocational skills acquired on or off the job, typically gained through a combination of education and relevant experience, totaling 3 to 4 years of equivalent industry experience. • Good written/oral communication skills are required. • Required proficiency with MS Office suite. • Familiarity with field operations specific trouble ticket and network database systems. • Basic RF , Transmission , and CPE skills with experience equivalent to those of a Tech I. • Able to lift 25lbs • Travel required. • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (ie: shift work). • Reliable transportation required."

Qualifications Carrier add experience a plus • CDMA, iDEN, Long Distance and international voice and data switching platforms, VMS, SMS, STP/SS7, HLR, DACS, Transport, Routers. AC/DC power plant, Test Equipment for RF and transport (DS0 through OC-192).
