Support our corporate expansion program by working as a team member and consultant with equipment buyers, specialists, project managers and store managers to purchase and coordinate the delivery of all required equipment and supplies. Support the on-going needs of our existing stores, the corporate office and all distribution centers for goods and services. Assist buyer coordinating/managing various sizable purchasing contracts.

Job Requirements
• College graduate or comparable business experience preferred
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to handle conflict resolution
• Excellent active listening skills and customer service skills required
• Strong spreadsheet knowledge and well developed skills in the operation of computer systems (Excel, Windows, Word, Internet) required
• Must be a highly motivated team player, be self-directed in a fast paced environment and be well organized
• Must have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and to meet aggressive objectives is essential
• Must be open to change and have the ability to be flexible and take on projects as assigned
Job Details
• Issue purchase orders for existing stores, corporate offices and distribution centers and coordinate deliveries in accordance with established schedules
• Interact directly with vendors to negotiate competitive pricing and maintain and cultivate a solid working relationship
• Seek out new products and/or vendors for all levels of associates (including operations, merchandising, retail and distribution center associates) and be a responsive problem solver
• Serve as an equipment/supply consultant and make recommendations to all levels of associates, including business leaders
• Assist buyer in coordinating/managing various contracts
• Perform assigned and self-created projects to lower cost and increase department efficiency
• Participate in cross functional teams organized to evaluate and improve business processes
• Develop extensive knowledge of retail equipment to better serve Hannaford (and independent) customers
• Assist with buyer’s responsibilities when they are out of the office
