The Potomac School seeks an experienced facilities electrician for a full time position in an institutional setting. This is a skilled, technical, and hands-on production position requiring extensive knowledge of all phases of electrical theory, code and practical applications; generation, high and low voltage, distribution systems and all branch circuit and wiring, including MDP's, switchgear, subpanels and breakers. Requires good working knowledge of and experience with fire alarm systems, panels and controls, intrusion alarms, access control, all forms of lighting, pumps, motors, and commercial generators. Looking for individual who can be team player, work in a diverse environment, enjoys a collaborative approach, is creative and clever as well as a hard worker. Position requires someone who can work individually with a minimum of supervision. Experience with telecommunications, information technology, HVAC and building automation systems is strongly desired. Work will run from the simple to complex. Schedule can be flexible. Applicants must be capable of working in confined spaces, climbing ladders and managing and lifting loads up to 65 lbs. Prefer that applicant be licensed electrician in VA. but not required. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
