The Building Automation Specialist will monitor, analyze, operate, and adjust building control systems (DDC automation and Pneumatic) including steam, condensate, chilled water and various plumbing automation systems. This position is required to proactively look at various mechanical systems for optimization and comfort throughout the campus. Specific responsibilities include controlling, operating and maintaining electronic and BMS programs and systems, operating, adjusting and diagnosing sequences with Johnson Controls Metasys, Honewell, and Automated Logic Building automation systems, maintaining and repairing existing air compressors for the pneumatic control system, and working with both mechanical and control contractors during construction processes. Work involves rotating shifts and availability on holidays, weekends and for overtime as required. |
Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent and NYS driver’s license is required preferably with 5-7 years of satisfactory work experience in the operations/maintenance of a related facilities environment or 5-7 years of experience in a building controls related trade, with 3+ years working with commercial heating, ventilating, or an air-conditioning company involved with pneumatic and/or temperature controls, knowledge of BMS programming, software and functions and completion of 2-year trade school in HVAC and Electronics. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is proficient in various Building Management Systems, have the ability to read & interpret Engineering Specifications & Drawings, install, operate, and maintain various building control systems, service, install and calibrate existing Honeywell and Johnson Control pneumatic systems, read and understand building automation graphical programming languages, and have a familiarization with BACnet protocols and IP based communication systems and protocols.
