Hudson DC: To assist in the day to day operations of the facility planning department for Jo-Ann Stores Inc.
Facilitate overall operation of planning including location of new articles and systemic and physical location
setup according to article type and category. Responsible for identifying systemic, dimension, replenishment,
and pallet move issues and resolving according to company policy.
Assist in managing clerical planning process for 600,000 square foot facility with an article count above
30,000 and inventory in excess of $35,000,000.
Assist operation in the locating of new inbound articles by visual inspection and locating
according to product type and category. Systemic setup of article dimensions, pallet build, and
replenishment level. Follow locating guidelines to ensure locating accuracy and maintenance of
category and product type grouping
Walk the distribution center daily to maintain adequate available space and make
recommendations for productivity and quality enhancements.
Create new locations and selection areas to maximize productivity throughout the distribution
center. Pallet move product to improve location and DC cubing.
Interact with the Facility Planning Manager, IC Supervisor, QA Supervisor and various levels of
operational personnel to solve problems and improve overall efficiencies.
Ensure data entry accuracy in the warehouse management system and receiving databases.
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred: AA Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related
Minimum: 1-2 years of distribution logistics experience with warehouse management systems application.
Preferred: 2 years experience with ACCESS database creation and EXCEL.
Other Skills or Certifications:
Good Math and problem solving skills. Computer skills with MS Office, Excel, Access and SAP required. 10-
Key touch proficient. Possess knowledge in EXE Warehouse Management Systems.
