Faculty Appointments in Neuroscience

The Jupiter Life Sciences Initiative at Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, Florida, invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Associate Professor level. We are particularly interested in candidates who use cellular/molecular or systems/behavioral approaches to address questions in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, cortical circuitry, learning and memory, stress or addiction. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field, and an established and sustainable neuroscience research program with extramural funding.

The Jupiter Life Sciences Initiative (http://www.science.fau.edu/ neuroscience/iban/) is FAU’s component of a three-way vibrant and interactive neuroscience research hub that includes the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and the Scripps Florida Research Institute. FAU faculty enjoy collaborations with researchers at the two institutes, both located adjacent to FAU’s state-of-the-art research facilities on its John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter. The Initiative unites neuroscientists with doctoral trainees and undergraduates in neuroscience, and successful candidates will be expected to participate in both training programs. Current FAU neuroscience research spans from the molecular to the systems level, with emphases on synapse formation, axon guidance, cellular stress, and learning and memory.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled. To be considered for these positions, please apply for position #991114 at https://jobs.fau.edu. Applicants should include a cover letter, personal statements of research and teaching interests, a complete curriculum vitae, copies of official transcripts scanned into an electronic format, and contact information for three letters of reference.
