Bachelor's degree in social work, or bachelor's degree in a human services field and one year of social work experience; or bachelor's degree in any field accompanied by at least two years of appropriate and related experience in human services; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Master's degree in social work preferred; experience in public child welfare, preferably Child Protective Services, preferred. Knowledge of and ability to apply social work principles and practices to children and adults required. Excellent organizational, oral /written communication, interpersonal and public relations skills necessary. PC proficiency desired. Individuals must be willing to work outside normal work hours, which will include being on-call for emergencies 24 hours a day on a rotating schedule, including weekends. Good driving record required. Must not reflect a total accumulation of sis or more negative points within the past three years or major violation within the past four years. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required.

Duties:

Responds to referrals alleging child abuse/neglect and provides services to families experiencing abuse/neglect. Completes Family Assessment and Investigations. Assesses safety of children and risk of abuse; develops service plans. Connects families with needed community resources. Provides services in short term and long term cases of child abuse/neglect, including guidance, crisis intervention, case management and court intervention to prevent further abuse/neglect. Works with parents and children to prevent out of home placements of abused/neglected children or those with severe emotional and/or behavioral problems. Participates on an emergency shelter team, reporting to shelter duty as required. Performs other work as required.

Shift:

40 hours/week; Monday - Friday between 7:00a.m. - 7:00p.m.
