Position: Technical Programming Analyst
Location: Farmington Hills, MI


We currently have an opportunity for self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Technical Programming Analyst position in our Information Technology department. The Technical Programming Analyst is responsible for the programming, development, and implementation of Episys system applications and system modifications. Writes code for assigned tickets and projects, validates functionality, reports, and watches change management, and ensures programming is easy to interpret via code or system diagrams.

Responsible for the design, development and implementation of Episys related projects and/or tasks, in order to accomplish organizational goals and complete prioritized projects.

Develops creative solutions to business challenges, while working with appropriate stakeholders to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.

Processes and distributes daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly programs and reports, including required system maintenance, in order to meet regulatory requirements and objectives.

Develops custom programs and code in various programming languages to provide support for various platforms, interfaces and databases.

Creates programming documentation and prepares flowcharts, logic procedures and diagrams and assist with providing adequate user documentation for training purposes

Creates and maintains programs to import and/or export third party information into or from Episys for credit union business purposes.

Conducts core system user privilege file maintenance. Maintains program and records to ensure changes are reasonable, accurate, and include proper documentation and approval.

Troubleshoots end-user challenges regarding all aspects of Episys and/or the local area network in a timely manner, to ensure a functioning network and core system.

Works with project groups to determine needed functionality and development solutions of future systems.

Tests programming code in Episys to ensure quality and adherence to agreed specifications, including movement to the live environment.

Make Parameter level changes based on management direction and ensure changes are accurate and error free.

Offers suggestions to increase efficiency in system operations and ensure changes have minimal effect on other processes, systems and stakeholders.

Assists with fixing software or hardware problems that affect the credit union’s information technology operations to ensures hardware and software compatibility across the credit union.

Works closely with the Systems Analyst in the development of software systems and documentation. Acquires information from vendors, management and staff for the development of new systems to interface with CU systems that enhance current processes and gain efficiencies.

Periodically performs Network Specialist job duties to ensure the completion of daily processes and tasks.

Acquires a working knowledge of the account structure in Epysis as well as other credit union applications critical to business continuity.

Performance Measurements –
1. Individual and department goals are met. Initiative is taken to develop opportunities and overcome objections to obtain goals.
2. Work together cohesively with the IT Team and MDT. Communication is effective and efficient.
3. Ticket turnaround time is efficient and effective, proper requirements are developed and programming properly documented and delivered error free.
4. MDT programming pass through percentage goal is met.

Education : Equivalent to high school education, related college or programming certification(s); i.e. Java, HTML or .net preferred.

Experience : Two years of related experience in a programming oriented field. Episys/Symitar Power On experience a plus.

Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the Episys Core System or other related financial industry core system.
General knowledge of the Credit Union Industry.
Demonstrates excellent verbal, written and phone communication skills.
Demonstrates analytical, decision making and technical skills
