Due to the continued success and growth of our business, Sartorius is offering an exciting and challenging opportunity as Field Application Specialist - Fluid Management Technologies (FMT). We are seeking a team member that is motivated, ambitious, and excited to partake in the growth of our company. The Field Application Specialist -FMT is responsible for providing technical pre- and post-sales support to customers, sales representatives and marketing for the development and implementation of products and technologies for disposable solutions. Additionally this position is responsible to execute the marketing strategy in support of new product launches and specific marketing initiatives. Each Regional Application Specialist is assigned to work with a defined number of sales representatives with a shared territory sales goal. Each sales representative is also supported by Application Specialists for other technologies.

What you can look forward to accomplishing Primary Duties:
•Provide design assistance to implement new single use solutions to customer needs.
•Provide on-site technical support to customers.
•Perform product demonstrations
•Perform IQ/OQ for FMT products.
•Perform customer training.
•Act as “first responder” for product quality investigations.
•Participate in product quality investigation team
•Respond to customer inquiries and facilitate the quoting process for select items
•Provide feedback to Product Management on products, competition and gaps in the product portfolio.
Secondary Duties:
•Develop and provide technical training to customers and sales force
•Participate in Custom Equipment Project Team
•Provide information (dimensions, operating conditions, drawings, etc.) to support proposals.
•Perform on site or laboratory studies to support customers, sales or marketing.
•Write applications notes to support the use of single use products.
•Troubleshoot customer problems and resolve customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
•Collaborate with Applications Specialists from Filtration Technologies, Purification Technologies and Fermentation Technologies to provide value added customer solutions.
•Contribute to development of Application Specialist knowledge base, by sharing experiences, reports, ideas, etc.
•Demonstrate basic knowledge of regulatory affairs, the bioprocess, and the entire Sartorius Stedim Biotech product portfolio.
Skills and experience you will need to bring to our company The ideal candidate will have experience within a process or laboratory setting in the biopharmaceutical industry. Specific experience in process engineering, process development, pilot or process scale cell culture, fermentation, filtration, purification or formulation and fill is desirable. Experience in implementation of disposables solution in Biomanufacturing, a bonus. In Addition:
•BA/BS degree in a technical discipline, preferably in chemical, biotechnology or mechanical engineering or biological sciences
•Familiarity with cGMP’s and operating in human drug manufacturing environment.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to function in a multi-tasking environment
•Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
•Ability to develop and execute experimental protocols
•A genuine desire to learn and seek out valuable information
•Computer (PC) literacy
•Up to 75% travel within the Southeast Area
•Occasional overnight travel as required (typically less than 10%)
•Confidence in their abilities and self-driven
