Responsibilities

Assist the Assistant Director of Education at the 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds with development, implementation, and evaluation of various worksite programs and projects that provide career ladder advancement and services for members

Coordinate various adult education programs, establish on-site training projects, and implementations including promotion, recruitment and logistics; provide information to program participants at the beginning and during the course of training

Register education program participants, monitor attendance, collect documents and provide all required forms; assist with writing project reports and documenting project progress and outcomes

Establish relationships with key union and management representatives at contributing facilities; support program development and administration

Participate in screening, selection, observation and evaluation of contracted adult education providers; ensure they meet the needs of the Fund and monitor their performance

Create pre-obligations and monitor project budget; ensure project expenses meet the budget

Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Health Care or equivalent years of experience required; plus

Minimum three (3) years experience with adult education programs or workforce development required; experience with health care education or labor management training preferred

Basic skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred

Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and teamwork skills

Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

Strong attention to details and ability to work well independently

Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed

Ability to travel to various locations in the New York City and Upstate areas

Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
