We are currently seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Field Service Rep with a proven track record to support the CMS Water and Process Technologies (W&PT) sales force and W&PT customers. The Field Service Representative will support the entire process control equipment product line, including standard pumps, controllers, and proprietary control and monitoring systems such as the GE Pacesetter, TrueSense, and other associated process control equipment.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition you will:
  • Provide the necessary support to build out the Platform Center of Excellence (COE), directly reporting to the NAM Field Services Leader
  • Support all chemical equipment engineering activities including project assessments, site reviews, commissioning, programming, calibration, project execution, onsite training, troubleshooting and repairs for the equipment used to dose and control the application of chemicals to process streams
  • Provide extensive equipment / instrumentation support, electrically and mechanically, leading installation fulfillment, control logic programming, and general hardware and software support
  • Self-direct electrical and mechanical installation of components required for final tie-ins to applications in the field
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems for customers and/or the W&PT field sales force via telephone or on-site at customer locations
  • Keep up to date with all Quality Operating Instructions (QOIs) pertaining to this position, including all applicable safety procedures while meeting end customer requirement and expectations
  • Understand responsibilities during installations, calibration, validation, verification, and preventive maintenance and repair services for all relevant chemical feed equipment
  • Repair and/or calibrate instruments in accordance with diagnosis and instructions from the Technical Support group if needed, following QOIs as appropriate
  • Demonstrate proficiency performing all test and calibration routines required in the service QOIs, as well as procedures for on-site services and Database management
  • Coordinate with CMS Field Service Representatives and CMS Account Management team to resolve service call issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate with customer and in-house personnel, verbally and in writing
  • Ensure expenditure protocol is followed and expense reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Maintain ongoing updates on customer contact records in database. This includes but is not limited to; updating service status at customer site, establish and effectively communicate customer service schedule, create spare parts orders and shipping requirements, review and maintain customer incidents and special needs
  • Implement and Close on-site services
  • Complete database updates and installation paperwork in a timely manner
  • Be responsible for complying with all safety, health, environmental policies and procedures relevant to the position

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline from an accredited college, university or technical college OR High School Diploma / GED with 5 years of experience in Water / Maintenance / Technical Experience or related area
  • Minimum of 2 years of plant or maintenance experience, OR a minimum of 2 additional years of training (college, military, technical / vocational school)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant professional work experience, preferably in a chem-feed and control field repair environment Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability and willing to travel 50% or more
  • Ability and willingness to work in multiple environments, indoor/outdoor in variety of industries, including Class 1 div 2 hazard classification

  • Fundamental computer programming basics, Boolean and comparative logic
  • General knowledge of electrical equipment, chemistry and safety
  • Vision, manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to service instruments and handle electrical equipment
  • Ability to learn applicable company procedures within a reasonable time from start of employment
  • Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets, and basic data base knowledge

  • Proven ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees within the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects in a sales environment via strong technical support
  • Understanding of Water Treatment processes, controls and programming, and chemical applications
  • Ability to make good business decisions based on risk reward analysis and business objectives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate workload effectively
