P er Se|Technical has an immediate need for an Field Service Technician for Laser Machines . This is aDIRECT-HIRE position located in Minnesota.
Job Summary
Our client, an industry leader inthe manufacturing of EDM, Laser, and waterjet machineshas animmediate opening for an EDM Field Service Technician. Position requires heavy travel (90%)throughout North America, good communication skills and includes Repairing, Troubleshooting, Modifying and Testing complex technical problems on industrial machine tool products for client customers. Services are provided to end user via telephone and or on site visit.
Working Conditions
High volume, fast paced customer service support center. Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time.
Essential Job Functions
Communicate professionally and effectively with customers via telephone.
Diagnose complex technical problems and perform on-site repair.
Diagnose technical problems and troubleshoot via telephone.
Examine machines mechanically and perform repairs by dismantling machines and rebuilding mechanically.
Effectively interpret schematics and block diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems for products.
Document in detail product problems and resolutions.
Manage heavy inbound telephone load efficiently and in a professional manner.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
2yr Electronic or Technical Degree preferred.
1-5 years experience as field service in the machine tool industry a plus.
Laser, machine shop, tool/dyeexperience a plus.
Skilled in Electrical measurement and inspection techniques.
Experience with Voltmeter, Oscilloscope and other measurement equipment.
Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems
Experience with Ballscrews, bearings, gearing and various way systems.
Skilled in mechanical measurement and inspection techniques.
Experience with indicators, micrometers, gage blocks and optical comparitor. Laser Interferometer and ballbar a plus.
Working knowledge of how to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
CNC programming skills a plus.
Ability to operate computer using Windows operating system.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment.
