DESCRIPTION

DUTIES

Qualified candidates should have field experience in all types of land surveying, including boundary, topographic, physical, and construction stake-out, along with a history in data collection and instrument operations. Experience with Leica Total Stations, Topcon and Carlson SurvCE Data Collectors a plus. Working knowledge of Static and RTK GPS desired but not required. Primary duties and responsibilities include operating field equipment such as conventional total stations and data collectors, providing front-end locations and stakeouts, and providing support to tasks assigned by the Party Chief. Additionally, the Field Surveyor may oversee a field crew's daily operations of all field activities including boundary, topographic and as-built surveys; and construction layout.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications Required:
  • 3 years of land survey experience + HS Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Good working knowledge and proficiency with modern survey devices and modern survey methods , including competence in operating conventional total stations and data collector to include setting up, modifying settings as need arises, and ability to perform simple calculations, compute offsets and points
  • CST Level II required or ability to obtain within one (1) year
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, and related personnel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willing and able to travel for extended periods as needed
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
  • Physical ability to work outdoors on project sites that may extend several miles, carry equipment, and walk throughout the day.
