Financial Analyst II - Maitland
Florida Hospital seeks to hire a Financial Analyst II who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Established in 1908, Florida Hospital is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in the country, caring for more than a million patients each year. The Maitland Office Plaza houses our highly skilled teams that support our hospital system including Marketing, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Management, the Credit Union and Human Resources. Full Time/ Days
The Revenue Management Financial Analyst monitors revenue and payments. Interacts with senior finance officers, revenue cycle directors and assistant directors. Is responsive to ever changing matrix of hospital needs and acts accordingly. Assists in pricing analysis and recommends pricing strategies that are rational and optimal. Creates revenue trends, analyzes variances, and identifies issues and opportunities. Partners with Revenue Cycle Departments to generate and implement new revenue reports and opportunities. Performs research, collects data, and skillfully organizes and presents the analysis to management in written or oral format. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience Required:
Ability to compile and analyze financial information on trended data for financial decision making
Ability to work in a project-oriented environment with people of various backgrounds
Proficiency in creating statistical spreadsheets using macros and formulas, and expert knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SQL
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and meet deadlines
Ability to present information to all levels of management
Ability to relate operational and financial performance in the healthcare environment and knowledge of healthcare accounting methods and financial modeling.
Critical thinking skills and ability to exercise objective, independent judgment in developing financial recommendations for Management
Self-motivated, with a detail-oriented focus, and outstanding customer service skills
Minimum (2) years college degree in finance or accounting, or business-related field
Internship in healthcare finance, billing or related field, with specific emphasis on accounting, statistical analysis, decision-making, reporting, and financial modeling or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (Preferred)
Knowledge of Florida Hospital Information Systems, including Suncare, Cerner and QMF. (Preferred)
Possesses knowledge of PFS registration, HIM coding, and PFS billing processes (Preferred)
Possess knowledge of FH pricefile system and impact changes in pricefile have on accounting, financial planning, and managed care processes (Preferred)

Meets deadlines for established goals in an accurate and efficient manner for all aspects of projects.
Focuses on revenue process improvement strategies, with special focus on incremental payment impacts in support of department and process initiatives.
Works effectively with revenue numerical data and utilizes understanding of how changes in gross revenue impact changes in net revenue.
Creates queries and compiles weekly, monthly and quarterly reports using SQL/QMF language timely and effectively as requested by Senior Management. Compiles monthly reports such as upfront cash, potential collections and DRG case mix. Downloads and organizes quarterly reports such as POA, Top 50 and E ED volumes and 24 month payor code analysis.
Maintains accuracy of the payor code database and trending reports.
Assists in developing the annual pricing update, including creating spreadsheets, comparing charges to cost and market data.
Works with Analysts to routinely identify charging opportunities, proactively identifying revenue opportunity and working with department leadership to prioritize.
Remains current with all assigned reading and department CBL education plans.
Performs wide range of duties in support of total department efficiency.
Facilitates smooth and efficient operation of department by being available and prepared to work during scheduled working hours and attends meetings as requested by management
