Senior Finance Manager, IT
Strategic Planning and Analysis
Be a strategic advisor to the IT CFO, supporting and providing thought leadership with creative, breakthrough ideas and analysis that moves the needle on Microsoft IT strategy and planning. You will own the annual planning process across IT Finance and contribute expertise to create and evangelize improvement strategies and long-term planning and processes. Create strong strategic partnerships and provide personal leadership to orchestrate IT / IT Finance coordination of IT investment portfolio.
•Own the end to end annual budgeting process for Microsoft IT ($1.5B, 4000+ FTEs, global org). Help migrate planning process from current annual view to rolling multi-year planning process.
•Drive continuous improvement of processes to increase efficiency and value add
•Own & maintain IT Finance calendar of deliverables and milestones, and coordinate across functions
Value Realization / ROI
•Define and review value realization for investment portfolio, ensuring that foundational spend supports agile IT and projects to deliver major functionality for businesses enable new business capabilities and create value for Microsoft shareholders.
•Partner with IT finance and IT leadership to ensure good investments are made and to identify and communicate the value of the IT portfolio. Requires you to work across groups and show outstanding communication, influence and collaboration capabilities.
CFO and CIO strategic analysis & projects
•An IT Finance representative partnering with Microsoft IT leadership on strategic initiatives. Examples of previous projects include developing an activity-based costing model for IT, developing and implementing a strategic sourcing strategy, designing and rolling out Finance training for Microsoft IT and building a data quality scorecard.
•Lead and implement complex business decisions and socialize across organization.
•Introduce strategic focus and develop sophisticated modeling and analysis to provide insights to business drivers and competitive arena.
•Lead Proforma Invoice effort and cost transparency efforts including Total Cost of Ownership.
This role is an individual contributor role.
•Minimum 5+ years applicable experience in finance or accounting function
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline
Other/ Preferred Qualifications:
•Previous experience in technology industry
•Previous ownership of cross-function initiatives and leadership experience in strategic planning, project management, executive communication, thought leadership and change management
