Job Summary:

This position is responsible for completing basic to complex financial analysis of CITGO’s financial performance. This includes working on the team that manages the Corporate Budget process, earnings and cash flow forecasts, Business Unit performance reporting process, and compensation metrics. This position helps ensures that current and forecast period operating activities are properly reported to Executive Management in the context of pro forma financial statements and actual variances to budget. These processes are achieved through collaborative work with all operations and financial organizations at CITGO . The position must be familiar with emerging issues in accounting practice and identify how those issues will impact CITGO reported results as well as CITGO borrowing or cash generating capabilities. This analysis will include, but is not limited to, hydrocarbon inventories; purchases and sales; balance sheet accounts; required corrections; and errors and exceptions as identified, and the impact of acquisitions, mergers or divestments within CITGO Petroleum. Use knowledge of GAAP, CITGO operations and CITGO financial processes as they relate to both corporate and business unit earnings to act as an analytical resource within the Finance Department and within all business units. Creative thinking skills are required for identifying issues before a potential problem is recognized. In addition, use of more sophisticated financial analysis and statistical tools will be required. Perform analytical tasks independent of direct supervision. Identify future risk to CITGO assets resulting from analysis processes by responding to management directions but without day to day supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

College Degree (Bachelors Level) in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

Perform broad financial analysis of results of operations.

Compare business results to GAAP results.

Prioritize work when given multiple projects.

Effective written and oral communication skills including the ability to make presentations to management.

Leadership skills to direct and lead the efforts of ad hoc teams and on-going committees.

Knowledge of the refining, marketing and transportation industry with the ability to relate operational changes to financial results.

Active participant in change management.

Extensive computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word and the ability to maintain skills as technology changes.

Experience with SAP or similar software including report generation preferred.

Work only general direction. Influence the work of others.

The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is 2.

Job Duties:

1. Budget Process – Participate as a coordinator in the Corporate Budget process by determining Executive Management requirements, then developing specific guidelines, schedules, personnel contacts, and information reporting tools necessary to capture and translate key operating activities into pro forma financial statements subject to review and approval by the CITGO Board of Directors. Interface with all organizations, and all personnel levels at CITGO to ensure completeness. Monitor developments in the field of Budgets and Performance Reporting, as well as IT, to adapt the CITGO Budget process to best practices.

2. Business Unit reporting, Earnings and Cash Flow forecasts – provide oversight to CITGO’s Business Unit reporting process, development of re-forecasts of budgeted earnings\cash flow implications for Treasury’s liquidity management. These processes require insight to CITGO operations and financial processes, as well as the ability to coordinate with analysts in all areas of CITGO. Prepare Monthly Accountability Meeting (MAM) financial presentation as well as coordinate meeting materials

3. Special Projects – Perform analysis and compile presentations as requested by the department manager, Corporate Controller and CFO. This routinely includes human resource performance metrics used in compensation and other financial oriented reports that are used in presentation to Executive management and Board of Directors meetings as well as divestment and acquisition support.
